Edith Thompson Of Man, WV Edith Thompson, 87, of Man, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from her home, after a short illness. She was born on August 22, 1925, at Man, the daughter of the late John and Emmer Burgess Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Andy Combs, Sturgill Combs, and Leonard Combs. Edith was a home maker. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Sidney DeWayne Thompson of Verner; one niece, Tammy (Greg) Stevens of Crown; one nephew, Frank (Shelia) Combs of Man; three grandchildren, Jennifer Paige Chapman of Louisville, KY, Sidney Garrett Thompson of Accoville, and Kevin Brian Shuff of Salisbury, NC; two great-grandchildren, Evan Alexander Shuff of Salisbury, NC and Michelle Chapman of Louisville, KY; and a very dear friend, Regina Workman of Cyclone; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Harrison Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Honoring Edith's request her remains will be cremated.
