Jimmy Harold Blankenship Of Davin, WV Jimmy Harold “Big Daddy” Blankenship, 81, of Davin, earned his angel wings and was carried away to heaven by angels on Friday, April 1, 2011, from Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born on October 15, 1929, at Lex in McDowell County, a son of the late Abraham and Virginia “Jenny” Boyd Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert “June” Blankenship; and one sister, Jerry Smallwood. A proud member of UMWA local union 1440, he also served as a member of other UMWA local unions throughout the years. An outdoorsman, Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing. Devoted to his family, Jimmy took pride in his home and could often be seen working around his house.
