Ethel Mae Preston
of Lundale, WV
Ethel Mae Preston, 87, of Lundale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division, after a long illness.
She was born May 21, 1928, at Lundale, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Helen Baumgartner Yanko.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roscoe Preston, Sr.; one son, Terry Allen Preston; one brother, George (Ernestine) Michaels; eight sisters, Helen (Jack) Garcia, Irene (Bill) Eggars, Anna (Jack) Perez, Elizabeth (Tony) Sabo, Virginia (Bill) Perry, Kathleen (Ray) Perry, Mary (Johnny) Muscato, and Margaret Jarrell.
Ethel was employed at the Lundale Post Office for 26 years, retiring in 1985 as Post Master. She had fond memories of the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Packs at Lundale where she served as Scout Leader. Ethel was a member of the Old Man High Alumni. She enjoyed gardening, watching television, collecting cookbooks and magazines, singing, and playing bingo. Ethel loved cooking and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ronald (Barbara) Preston of Cincinnati, OH and Charles "Buddy" (Glenna) Preston of Man; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Preston of Accoville; seven grandchildren, Angela Preston, Ronald Preston, Jr., Charles "Chuck" (Stephanie) Preston, Chris (Heather) Preston, Chad (Whitney) Preston, Terry Alan Preston, and Jonathan Preston; and 13 great-grandchildren, Brittanie, Chase, Sara, Gage, Gianna, Jonathan, Blake, Braeden, Will, Max, Ethan, Autumn, Tierra Preston; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby with Rev. Tim Estus and Brother Robert Perry officiating.
Friends may gather one hour prior to services at the mausoleum also.
