Obituary of Joyce Browning

Joyce Lee Bailey Browning, 80, of Greenvally, departed this life suddenly at home due to natural causes on Saturday, July 13th, 2024. She joined the Lord in Heaven, leaving behind a profound legacy of love. She was born on May 21st, 1944, in Man, a daughter of the late Reverend Herbert Lee Bailey and his wife Leslie Dillon Bailey and her mother, the late Fanny Aldridge Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Francis Bailey, Nila Jean Bailey Curry, and Thelma Ruth Bailey Grimmet, and three brothers, Denny Jerald Bailey, James Sidney Bailey, and Charles Randall Bailey. Joyce was a loving mother who dedicated her life to caring for her family. As a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, she brought warmth and joy to those around her. Joyce worked as a barber in Man, where she built lasting relationships with her clients through her skill and kindness. She had a special bond with her beloved dog, Polly, her faithful companion, and cherished furbaby. Joyce's love, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who know her. Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Melissa and Roy Sifford, Claire Bailey, and Treena Robinson. Two brothers, Ronnie Keith Bailey of Newark, OH, and Curtis Orin Bailey of Newton, NC. Her beloved fur-baby Polly, 13 grandchildren, and over 20 great-grandchildren also survive her, along with many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A Celebration of Joyce's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man, with the Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. A Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
