John Tiller, 69, of Davin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, following a sudden illness. He was born on January 21, 1955, at Logan, the son of the late John Marion Tiller and Beulah Frances Blair Staten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Cunningham and Deloris Porter; and one brother, Jack Tiller. John was a service tech who retired after 22 years of service from Edward and Warren Tire Company. He loved and cherished all of his children and grandchildren. His love for children, led him to take in every child that needed a home. John was a horse trader that had a great interest in John Deere Tractors. He was as steady as the sun and would go a thousand miles for those he loved. Most of all he had an unwavering love for his wife of 50 years Darlene, his pride and joy. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene Tiller; five sons, Fred and Sarah Tiller of Newport, TN, Boyce Tiller of Whitman, James Tiller of Inez, KY, and Karsen Tiller and John H. Tiller, both at home. three daughters, Alyssa and Crystal Lester of Baisden, Lauren and Larry Browning of Lyburn, and Harleigh Tiller at home; 10 grandchildren, Katie Powell, Shandia Poe, Makenzie Tiller, Emily Tiller, Skyler Tiller, Kyleigh Fender, Kelsey Fender, Sabrina Tiller, Shane Carter, and Braxton Carter; six great-grandchildren, Maia, Carver, Magnolia, and Brynix Browning, and Joshua and Owen Powell; a niece who he raised as his own, Katrina Fender; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin where a service will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Pallbearers will be James Tiller, Larry Browning, Mitchell Powell, Bernie Brown, Ian Poe, and Skyler Tiller. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Brown, David Porter, Joel Buza.
