Elizabeth “Libby” Sizemore

of Landville, WV

Elizabeth “Libby” Sizemore, 65, of Landville, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, leaving from Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, KY, after a sudden illness.

She was born September 5, 1953, at Lynco, the daughter of the late Clyde Junior and Emmazell McDaniels Sizemore.

In addition to her parents, she was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her sisters, Ruth Ann Sizemore and Ruby Kemp; her maternal grandparents, Price and Effie McDaniels; her paternal grandparents, Pearlie and Ada Sizemore; and a niece, Teresa McDonald.

Libby was a 1972 graduate of Man High School.  She worked for Anderson’s Laundromat at Man for three years.  Libby was a life long member of Landville Freewill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and helped out in any other way that she could.  Libby was a talented singer, she sang solo, with Elestine McDaniels, Sue Brown, and Daisy Morgan, as well as singing with other groups.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are one brother, Patrick (Cheryl) Sizemore of Scott Depot; two sisters, Sherri (Rev. Jackie) Grimmett of Christian and Pam Sizemore of Landville with whom Libby made her home; a niece she helped raise and who felt like a daughter to her, Rebecca “Becky” (Billy) Cox of New Bern, NC; her nephew, Joshua Grimmett of Christian; her nieces, Pamela Poulin of TN, Angie McDonald of Man, Shannon (Joseph) Flowers of Hurricane, Stacy Grimmett of Morgantown, Bridgett (Randy) Hansford of Hurricane, Leah (Nathaniel) Smith of Amherstdale, and Madison Sizemore of Scott Depot; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her church family that she loved dearly; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sue Collins.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Landville Freewill Baptist Church at Landville.

A Celebration of Libby’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Landville Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Grimmett and Rev. Alfred “Butch” Cobb officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
