Harrison Miller

Of Mallory, WV

   Harrison Miller, 92, of Mallory, joined his loved ones in their Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, leaving from The Wyngate at River’s Edge at Proctorville, OH, after a brief illness.

   He was born July 1, 1926, in McCreary County, Kentucky, the son of the late Wilburn and Hattie Murphy Miller.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delphia Jude Miller; one daughter, Joyce Evelyn Miller Paynter; one granddaughter, Andrea Michelle Paynter; and five sisters.

   Harrison was a coal miner who retired in 1973 from Guyan Eagle Coal Company’s #5 Mines.  He was a member of the UMWA local 9986.  Harrison was a member of the Kistler Freewill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed farming and fishing.

   Those left to cherish his memory are one grandson, Edward (Natalie Gina) Paynter of Chardon, OH; three great-grandchildren, Lauren LeBoeuf, Edward H. Paynter II, and Ashton C. Paynter, all of Chardon, OH; and his son-in-law, Edward B. Paynter of Davin along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. William F. Flannery III officiating.  Harrison will lovingly be laid to rest beside his wife, Delphia, in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

   Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Dignity Hospice, P.O. Box 4304, Chapmanville, WV  25508.
