Obituary of Rhonda Alisa Brooks

Rhonda Alisa "Lisa" Conn Brooks, 49, of Kistler, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2014, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack. She was born on September 27, 1965, at Man, the daughter of the late Lucian and Jean Lucas Conn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Conn; one sister, Deborah "Debbie" Conn Jude; and one nephew, Anthony Lee Lambert. A 1983 graduate of Man High School, Lisa was a member of the Softball Team where she played as the catcher in the 1983 girl's state championship softball win. She attended Concord College on a softball scholarship. Lisa worked for Matewan Banks at Gilbert for several years and more recented had been employed with Pride Headstart Center at Lorado. She was of the Baptist faith. Devoted to her family, Lisa especially loved her nieces and nephews. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Randy Brooks; one son, Austin Brooks at home; four sisters, Barbara Bernal of Deleware, Marcella Ann (Mike) Spears of Amherstdale, and Pamela (Jack) Tackett and Kena (Stephen) Meade, both of Robinette; four brothers, Cletis Conn of Robinette, Clevis "Man" Conn of VA, Michael (Dewonna) Conn of Kansas City, MO, and Steven (Sara) Conn of St. Louis, MO; a special nephew who she loved as a grandson, Jackson Tackett; her nieces and nephews, JeanAnn Lilly, Becky Grimmett, Greg Bernal, Michael Bernal, Eric Bernal, Christy Blackburn, Cletis Conn II, Candace Conn, Amberia Conn, Brittney Linville, Morgan Conn, Troy Conn, Allison Meade, and Madison Meade; and her best friend, Jerri Jackson Monroe along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at Kistler Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Clay and Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
