Rev. Tommy Blaine Vance

Of Mallory, WV

Rev. Tommy Blaine Vance, 53, of Mallory, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 29, 2018, leaving from the Davin Baptist Church that he loved so much while working on the Community Dinner that was his passion.

He was born on September 3, 1965, at Logan, a son of the late Rev. Ronald Edward and Mae Jeanette Salisbury Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Rose Duba.

Tommy was a 1983 graduate of Man High School where he played Hillbilly Football.  He married the love of his life, Cynthia Duba on November 14, 1983.  Tommy was the owner and operator of Vance Recycling and Root Company for 24 ½ years.  Through out the years he loved all of his employees and customers.  Tommy became a Christian in 1984 and was soon called to be a minister.  Rev. Tommy served the Lord as an evangelist for many years.  His passion was showing the love of Christ by helping the needy in any way that he could.  He enjoyed coon hunting, his farm, horses, and Smith Mountain Lake.  A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Tommy loved being with his whole family especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Cynthia Vance; the blessings of their marriage, four children, Danielle (Jeremy) Simpson of Davin, DeLynn Vance of Mallory, Blaine (Destiny) Vance of Princeton, and Rebekah Vance of Davin; his precious grandchildren, all of whom he loved with his whole heart, Jacob Cain “Jake”, Chase Jarrett, Bristol Rose, Lilly Grace, Ava Quinn, Alexa Rose and Tommy Blaine III due to arrive in April; one sister, Jackie Hall of Davin; two brothers, Bobby (LaDonna) Bryant of Accoville and Johnny (Kim) Vance of Davin; his father-in-law, Melvin Duba of Beckley; several nieces and nephew who he loved dearly along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.

A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Stephen Hunt officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
