Janis Ann Lusk
Of Kistler, WV
Janis Ann Hicks Lusk, 61, of Kistler, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2014, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long courageous battle with diabetes.
She was born October 31, 1953, at Logan, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruby Ruth "Boots" Chapman Hicks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy Hicks, Anna Hicks Hess, and Bedford and Zelma Chapman; two brothers, James R. Hicks and Wilbur "Bill" Hicks; and many aunts and uncles.
Janis was a 1973 graduate of Man High School. She was the owner of Boots Carry Out at Lorado in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Janis was a member of the Becco United Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She loved her church and the Lord.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 39 years, Wannie R. "Tinkie" Lusk; one daughter, Ashley Nicole (Ben) Bell of Hamlin; her mother-in-law, Faye Lusk of Kistler; her aunts, Gladys Cook, Toby Chapman, and Barbara Chapman; her nieces and nephews, Joe Hicks, Debbie (Troy) Goodman, Jamie Hicks, and Wendy (Dean) Cook and their families; her extended family, Karen (Larry) Woods, James (Clara) Lusk, Janet (Aubrey) Lusk, and Doug (Connie) Lusk; many other nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Joey; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be her nephews.
