Dock Allen, Jr.

Of Kistler, WV

   Dock Allen, Jr., 86, of Kistler, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a long illness.

   He was born on August 16, 1932, in Wyoming County, a son of the late Dock, Sr. and Maggie Graham Allen.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Pierce Allen and Claude Allen; and four sisters, Iva Lee Stacy, Corby Graham, Gracie Kirkendoll, and Allie Falls.

   Dock was a coal miner with 28 years of service.  He was an active faithful member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man.  Devoted to his family, Dock was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Bertha E. Moran Allen; children, Brenda Hobbs of Crown, Debbie Allen and Emory Wilder of Morristown, TN, Pat and Mike Taylor of Cool Ridge, Linda Traylor, Theresa and Phillip Cantrell, and Misty and Johnathan Chapman, all of Kistler; two special sons which he raised, Chad Bishop and Daniel Smith; grandchildren, Jackson Traylor, Angel Hobbs, Amy Taylor, Michael Taylor, Zachary Chapman and Justin Chapman; great-grandchildren, Addison Bishop, Matthew, Destiny, and Erika Smith, Devin, Hunter, and Alyssa Williams, and Peyton, Paige, and Paisley Smith; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.

   Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, at Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church at Man with Rev. James Ellis and Rev. Michael Johnson officiating.  Following services Dock will be lovingly laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

   Pall bearers will be Chad Bishop, Jackson Traylor, Zachary and Justin Chapman, and Devin and Billy Williams.

   Honorary pall bearers will be Mike Taylor, Phillip Cantrell, Emory Wilder, and Daniel Smith.
