Ada Mae Garrett Trent
Of Davin, WV
Ada Mae Garrett Trent, 84, of Davin, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on Friday, November 14, 2014, leaving from St. Francis Hospital at Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born June 19, 1930, at Garrett's Fork, the daughter of the late Dolliver and Stella Ball Garrett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Vaughn Trent; three sisters, Bertha Jane Mangus, Ruth Hensley, and Maxine Ferrell; and three brothers, Randy Garrett, Sammy Garrett, and Curtis Garrett.
Ada Mae was a retired medical records clerk formerly employed with Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church for over 60 years where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. Despite her trials and struggles, Ada remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, David (Rita) Trent of Davin and Dr. Daniel (Linda) Trent of Point Pleasant; one brother, Bobby (Madeline) Garrett of Cleveland, OH; four grandchildren, Drs. Lisa and Ryan Newell of Fayetteville, Daniel Trent, Jr. of Huntington, Alex and Tiffany Trent of Moneta, VA, and Brian Trent of Morgantown; four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Trent, Ella and Owen Newell, all of Fayetteville; a special friend, Julie Pack of Davin; and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Claypool United Methodist Church at Davin with Rev. Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
