Jimmy Church

Of Riley, WV

Jimmy Church, 61, of Riley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2018, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a sudden illness.

He was born on June 20, 1957, at Williamson, WV, a son of the late Ellis, Sr. and Vivian Smell Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Kitty Ann Church; and one brother, Ellis Church, Jr.

Jimmy enjoyed life and will long be remembered for his gentle soul and laughing spirit.  He loved Loretta Lynn, country music, and the holidays especially Halloween and Christmas.  Jimmy never met a stranger and made everyone his friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are three brothers, Wash Church and Pete Church, both of Thacker, and Buddy Church of Parkersburg; his nephews and their families, Ellis Church III of Lynn Bottom, and Jessie Church, Jamie Church, Adam Church, Melvin Church, and Bobby Church, all of Gilbert; his longtime friend, James Whitehead of Riley; and his Rescare family along with a host of friends he made through out his life time.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Moore officiating.  Jimmy will be lovingly laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
