Betty Kessler

Of Accoville, WV

Betty Lou Kessler, 83, of Accoville, joined her husband, Paul, in their heavenly home on Monday, November 5, 2018, leaving from Logan Center after a long illness.

She was born January 20, 1935, at Stollings, a daughter of the late Foster and Jewell Farley Booth.

Those at Heaven’s gate to greet her, in addition to her parents, were her husband of 54 years, Paul Edward Kessler; two children, Bettina Merritt and Timothy Paul Kessler; and one sister, Sandra Johnson.

Betty worked for Dr. Usha Reddy for many years and was a home maker.  She enjoyed cooking especially for holidays.  Betty will long be remembered for her Christmas cookies that she gave as gifts.  The oldest of six girls, Betty loved visiting with her sisters.  She was a member of the Accoville United Methodist Church at Accoville.  Betty was a doting grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a humble person and a great mother who received great joy from quietly serving others.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Tammy Kessler of Accoville, Bobbi (Byron) Griffin of South Man, and Andrea Kessler of Dublin, VA; a special son-in-law, Eddie Merritt of Fayetteville; four sisters, Donna (D.J.) Gollihue of OH, Wanda Christian of FL, Andrea Thompson of Davin, and Alice (Jon) Perry of South Man; seven grandchildren, Eric (Valerie) Merritt of MT, Brad (Sarah) Merritt of Mt. Lookout, Justin (Audra) Ferrell of Oak Hill, Braden Griffin and Blake Griffin, both of South Man, and Aiden O’Neal and Payton O’Neal, both of Dublin, VA; one great-granddaughter, Ivie Merritt; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Kenny Blevins officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.

Pall bearers will be will be her grandsons and Richie Thompson, Jon Michael Perry, Kevin Mays, and Jon Perry.
