Betty Ruth Burgess

Of Mallory, WV

   Betty Ruth Burgess, 88, of Mallory, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2018, leaving from Trinity of Logan, after a sudden illness.

   She was born on April 22, 1930, at Ben Creek, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Emma Cantrell Gibson.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Burgess; three brothers, James Earl Gibson, Jimmy (Anna) Gibson, and Ranny (Mag) Gibson.

   Betty was a wonderful wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She sold Avon and Mary Kay for many years.  Betty loved looking good, she always wore make up, painted her finger nails, and dressed well.  Betty enjoyed painting ceramics and spending time with her family.

   Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jack (Linda) Burgess of Amherstdale and Bobby Burgess of Palm Springs, CA; two granddaughters, Jaclyn (Eric) McClung of Madison and Adrienne Robinson of Amherstdale; four great-grandchildren, Carlie, Carter, Lilly, and Lauren; two sisters, Nell (Jerry) Taddeo of Toms River, NJ and Phyllis Peters of Columbus, OH; three brothers, Danny (Cindy) Gibson of Bruno, Fred (Eulah) Gibson of Pennsauken, NJ, and Billy Gibson of Detroit, MI; a special niece, Barbara Caratozzolo; a special sister-in-law, Anna Gibson of Bruno; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Roger Frye officiating.  Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery at Bruno. 

   Visitation will be held from 12 pm until 2 p.m. at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home.

   Pall bearers will be family and friends.
