Mabel Sue Gibson
Of Lyburn, WV
Mabel Sue Gibson, 77, of Lyburn, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, leaving from Trinity Healthcare of Logan, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 1, 1941, at Madison Creek, the daughter of the late Joe and Hannah Burgess Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband, Jimmy Toler; four sisters, Juanita Vance, Geneva Smith, Alta Mae Burgess, and her twin sister, Myrtle Lou Adkins; and five brothers, Luther Garland, Clarence Raymond, Everett Brown, Lawrence Pack, and Marion Brown.
Mabel worked for over 30 years as a cook for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Logan. She was a long time member of the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church at Lyburn. Mabel loved her I-pad where she spent many happy hours on facebook. She also enjoyed shopping, going to church when she was able, and spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are a nephew she loved as a son, Erwin (Kimberly) Smith of Lyburn; a very special great-niece and great-nephews whom she loved as her own grandchildren, Joseph Smith of Prescott, MI, and Hannah and Bryson Smith, both of Lyburn; her sister, Betty Jo (Rev. John T.) Vance of Holden; her brother, Zachary (Helen) Brown of Madison Creek; a special sister-in-law, Lahoma Brown of Accoville; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church at Lyburn and one hour prior to services also.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church at Lyburn with Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery at Madison Creek.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
