Martin Virgil Hunt
Of Cranco, WV
Martin Virgil Hunt, 71, of Cranco, left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, after a sudden illness.
He was born on October 5, 1942, at Betsey Lane, KY, the son of the late Oliver and Lorain Wellman Hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Gene Hunt and Oliver Alan Hunt.
A coal miner, Martin retired from Chafin Coal Company after 23 years of mining. Devoted to his family, he was a loving husband, daddy, grandpa, and friend. Most of all he loved the Lord, working faithfully as a member for 16 years and as a Deacon for 10 years at Bethel Tabernacle Church. Martin enjoyed working in his garage and garden and taking care of his family. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Myrtle Colegrove Hunt of Cranco, their marriage was blessed with three children, Susan Michelle (Ray Allen) Albright of Cranco, Martin Virgil (Stephanie) Hunt, Jr. of Cyclone, and Cynthia Renee (James) Blackburn of Kopperston; two handsome grandsons, Kenneth Edward "Kenny" Grimmett of Cranco and Chandler Drake Hunt of Cyclone; four beautiful grand-daughters, Brandi Nicole Albright of Azle, TX, Charity Hope Hunt of Cyclone, Christina Rae Albright of Cranco, and Savanna Renee Brown of Kopperston; one lovely great-grand-daughter, Megan Riley Grimmett Pierson of Lundale; two sisters, Juanita Booth of Crown and Rita Vance of Earling; and many special nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014, at Bethel Tabernacle Church at Davy Hollow Rd., Lorado, with Rev. Bobby Adkins, Rev. Pat Kinser, and Rev. Earl Robinson officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Friends may call after 6 P.M. Sunday at the church.
Pall bearers will be Ray Allen Albright, George Dozci, Jerry Clark, Brandon Lusk, Tootie Rowe, Keith Miller, and Freddy Osborne.
Honorary pall bearers will be Dewey Osborne, Sammy O'Neil, James Blackburn, Roger Adkins, and Bill Mays.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
