Lue Venie Hatfield
Of Coal Mountain, WV
Lue Venie Hatfield, 93, of Coal Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, from her home, after a short illness.
She was born on May 31, 1920, at Guyan, the daughter of the late Lon and Corba Walker Browning.
Also preceding her in death are her husband, Wayne Hatfield; and six sons, Robert, Rondal, Carl, Kenneth, Louie Dean, and an infant baby boy.
Venie was a home maker and a member of the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church. She loved attending church, reading her Bible, spending time with her grandchildren, and talking on the phone to her sister-in-law Ruth whom she loved very much. Up until the last month, she lived a very active life and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, James (Linda) Hatfield of Oceana; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Billy Hatfield, and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, 11-23-2013, at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church at Coal Mtn. with Rev. Tommy White and Rev. Wendell Hatfield, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Cemetery at Coal Mtn.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services.
