James "Jimmy" H. Green, Jr.
Of Hunt, WV
James "Jimmy" H. Green, Jr., 80, of Hunt went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 8, 2013, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 8, 1933, at Landville, the son of the late James Henry, Sr. and Lillian Queen Green.
In addition to his parents, waiting for him in heaven are his beloved wife of 57 years, Phyllis Jean Daniels Green; two sons, Roger Paul Greene and Kenneth Lee Greene; one granddaughter, Baileigh Ann Greene; and two brothers, Jerry and Jackie Greene.
Jimmy worked for Amherst Coal (4-H) Mines until he was disabled and also was a former Deacon for many years at Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle. He was a dedicated Christian for 60 years and enjoyed "soul winning" for the Lord. Jimmy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his three beloved sons, Billy Jack Greene and Freddy Joe (Abby) Greene, both of Greenville, and James Michael (Tia) Green of Huff Creek; ten grandchildren, Kelly Greene Harvey, Amber Greene Alvarez, Ashley Nicole Greene, Freddy Joe Greene, II, Kenneth Lee Greene, II, Erica Brooke Greene, Erica Renee` Anderson, Hannah Leigh Greene, Kenneth Paul Greene, and James Michael Green, II; seven great-grandchildren, Haleigh Ann Harvey, Gavin Kane Harvey, Aidan Luis Alvarez, Trevor Michael Adkins, Kelsie Jo Greene, Braxton Lee Ferguson, and Rylee McKenzie Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle at Hunt with Rev. Kit Meade, Rev. Richard Brown, and Rev. Donald Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pall Bearers will be Freddy Joe Greene, II, Clyde Bartram, Frankie Davis, Michael Johnson, Brandon "Beeper" Powers, Terry L. Grimmett, Mike Crosby, and T.J. Crosby.
Honorary pall bearers will be Tommy Crosby, James E. Daniels, Harold H. Daniels, and Michael P. Daniels.
