Craig Brumfield
Of Bruno, WV
Craig Brumfield, 53, of Bruno, went home to be with his family and Lord and Saviour, Saturday, August 10, 2013, after a sudden hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born September 19, 1959 at Man, a son of the late Clayton Everette and Betty Lura Goodman Brumfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlena Brumfield; and two brothers, Howard Lee and Joe Randolph Brumfield.
Craig was of strong Christian faith, performing gospel music during many of his younger years. He has held many job titles, gained many friends in the process, and learned life from diverse perspectives. Craig held his head low deep underground as a coal miner for many years, until the inevitable injury which left him disabled. He waited 18 years for compensation while raising his children and supporting his wife. Craig's life did not reflect values of wealth, but keeping his family warm with love and laughter, to remain blind through obstacles, and to carry on with the weight of his family's prosperity on his back were important to him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, April Dawn (Kurt) Browning, Sarah Rebeccah (Gary) Trammell, and Tyler Craig (Whitney) Brumfield all of Bruno; two brothers William R. (Geri) Brumfield of Sterling Heights, MI and Clayton E. (Belinda) Brumfield of Christian; two sisters, Lila Brumfield of Lorain, OH and Tishie Ann (Larry Dene) Miller of Oceana; former son-in-law, Charlie "CD" Woodall of Landville; his sister-in-law, Anna Brumfield of Howell, MI; six grandchildren, Leanndra Paige Woodall, Colby Dene Woodall, Gary Ray Trammell, III, Joseph Randolph Tramell, and the unborn twins Ezekiel Craig and Skyler Gabriel Brumfield; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Rick Proffitt officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Clay Brumfield, Troy Goodman, Michael Goodman, James McCoy, Clayton Brumfield, Michael Murphy, CD Woodall, and Anthony Goodman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests monetary donations be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St., Man, WV 25635 to assist with funeral expenses.
