Myrtle Lou Adkins
Of Lyburn, WV
Myrtle Lou Adkins, 72, of Lyburn, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from her residence, after a brief illness.
She was born February 1, 1941, at Rita, the daughter of the late Joe and Hannah Burgess Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Vance, Geneva Smith, and Alta Mae Burgess; and five brothers, Luther Garland, Clarence Raymond, Everett Brown, Lawrence Pack, and Marion Brown.
Myrtle was a caregiver for the elderly for many years. She attended the Eagle Sanctuary when she was able. Myrtle enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and watching the birds
Those left to cherish her memory are her one daughter, Carolyn (Vernon) Nichols of Lyburn; two sisters, her twin sister Mabel Gibson of Lyburn and Betty Jo (Rev. John T.) Vance of Holden; one brother Zachary (Helen) Brown of Madison Creek; a special nephew, Erwin (Kimberly) Smith of West Logan; two very special great niece and nephew whom she loved as her own grandchildren, Hannah Smith and Bryson Smith, both of West Logan; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church at Lyburn with the Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
