Obituary of Judy Elaine Kennedy

Judy Elaine Kennedy, 70, of Mallory, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from CAMC-General Division after a sudden illness. She was born August 10, 1942, in Boone County, the daughter of the late Walt and Mamilee Stevens Keck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Keck and Danny Keck; five sisters, Sharon Keck Campbell, Janice Keck Loving, Joy Keck, Sandra Keck, Brenda Keck; and a best friend, Helen Morgan. Judy was a dedicated home maker who created a warm and loving home for her family. She was a faithful member of the Mallory Church of God for 25 years, where she taught Sunday school and was active in the ladies aide. Her life centered around her church and family especially her grandchildren. Judy's loving touch was evident in the care she gave her husband of 43 years, Lonnie. She always looked for the good in everyone she met, opening her home to many in need through out the years. Her "walk with the Lord" was an inspiration to all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Lonnie Kennedy; four sons, Lonnie Amos "Lum" (Sandy) Kennedy and Robert Lee (Jowana) Kennedy, both of Accoville, and John Robert Kennedy and Danny Darrell (Munkin) Kennedy, both of Mallory; two daughters, Alice (Curtis) Hunter of Accoville and Shawn (Gary) Ellis of Kannapolis, NC; three brothers, Rodney (Sally) Keck of Tucson, AZ, Ricky (Debbie) Keck of Oceana, and Thomas Keck of Mallory; 22 grandchildren, Chele Loving, Shadona Chavez, John Kennedy, Jr., Phillip (Jenifer) Kennedy, Tasha (Anthony) Gibson, Rev. Joey (Becky) Kennedy, David Shane (Tracy) Keck, Eva (Duane) Vanover, Bobby Kennedy, Kristen (Adam) Harrison, Carrie Kennedy, Gary Wayne Ellis, II, Matthew Kennedy, Kourtney Kennedy, Auzya Jones, Dakota Ellis, Whiteney (Jonathan) Hatfield, Jessie Chavez, Tracy Jones, II, Aubree Pugh, Kailey Ellis, and Aiden Wojcheckski; 14 great-grandchildren, Micayla Gibson, Haley Kennedy, Addison Gibson, Abby Harrison, Shania Kennedy, Marissa Harrison, Kirsten Vanover, Taylor Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy, Jayden Kennedy, Emily Vanover, Jalynn Kennedy, Samantha Harrison, and Makiah Kennedy; special family, Jane and John Kennedy, Edith and Bob Earnest, Kathy Keck, Shannon Keck, Shawnna Gollihue, Gary Paynter, II, and Jamie Wojcheckski; and two best friends, Jenny O'Neil and Alice Faye Seymour along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Mallory Church of God at Mallory with Rev. Shaun Walker and Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Mallory Church of God and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be Curtis Hunter, Jonathan Hatfield, Jamie Elswick, Eric Keck, Phillip Kennedy, Jessie Chavez, and Jose Pacheco. Honorary pall bearers will be Teddy Kennedy, Terry Kennedy, Rick Keck, and Tommy Keck.
