William Joseph "Doty" Gollihue
Of Kistler, WV
William Joseph 'Doty" Gollihue, 77, of Kistler, joined his loving wife in Heaven on June 16, 2013, from the home of his son, at Naugatuck, after a long illness.
He was born April 11, 1936, at Willard, KY, the son of the late Peter and Mabel Jacobs Gollihue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Betty Jean Gibson Gollihue; two brothers, James and Pete Gollihue; and one sister, Margie Biddler.
Doty was a retired UMWA coal miner and attended Kistler Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching Braves baseball and Westerns. Doty loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Betty Jean (Doc) Harrison of Macon, NC, Jody Gollihue and Josette Nash of Nashville, TN, Missy (Joe) Bailey of San Clemente, CA, and Rev. Robbie (Stacy) Gollihue of Naugatuck; two brothers, Harry (Pauline) Gollihue of NJ and DJ (Donna Gail) of KY; four sisters, Mary Lou Wingler of WV, Geraldine (Richard) Smith of OH, Teenie (Larry) Browning of WV, and Joann (Paul) Knierm of OH; seven grandchildren, Brittany Gollihue of WV, Elizabeth (Brandon) Raines, both of NC, Cole Bailey of CA, Adrianna Gollihue of TN, Isaac, Joseph, and Jacob Gollihue all of Naugatuck; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Chambers of WV, Aubrie and Skyler Raines of NC; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relative and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Kistler Freewill Baptist Church at Kistler with Rev. Robbie Gollihue and Jody Gollihue officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 P.M. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to services on Friday.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
