Obituary of Mary Francis Meade

Mary Francis Meade Of Nippa, KY Mary Francis Meade, 88, of Nippa, KY formerly of the Man and Verner area, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at the home of her niece, Bonnie Parker, at Hopewell, VA. She was born May 15, 1925, at Verner, WV, the daughter of the late Rush and Pearl Browning Justice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall "Bud" Meade; three brothers, John, Frank, and George Justice; one sister, Anna Marie Justice Browning; her surrogate children, two special cousins, Clark and Claude Browning; one nephew, Alvie Browning, Jr.; and one step-son, Gregory Meade. Mary was a caregiver for the elderly and a surrogate mother for children who needed mothering. When Mary saw a need she filled it, whether it was nurturing a child or helping an elderly person, she was there doing her best. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Chesterfield Chapter 851 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Left to cherish her memory are those she mothered, her nieces, Bonnie Parker of Hopewell, VA and family and Susie Sexton of Pikeville, KY and family; two step-sons, Marshall (Peggy) Meade and Charles (Rita) Meade, both of Nippa, KY; one step-daughter, Venita (David) Powers of Paintsville, KY; one special cousin, Sharon Browning of Man, WV; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Justice of Man, WV and family and Ruth Justice of Ohio and family; and a special friend, Doris Spence of Accoville, WV along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. LeRoy Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
