Robert Franklin "BOB" Morgan
Of Man, WV
Robert Franklin "BOB" Morgan, 72, of Man went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2013, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 18, 1940 at Becco, the son of the late Chester and Pearl Marie Standifur Morgan.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Morgan, Jr. and Chuck Morgan; two sisters, Linda Morgan Rose and Teresa Morgan Toler; two nieces, Tonya Simpkins and Nikki Brown; one nephew, Steve Craddock; and one great-niece, Codi Nicole Holt.
Bob was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Island Creek Coal Company. Along with spending time with his special friends, Steve Grimmett and Shane (Brandy) Mangus, Bob was an avid Nascar fan, cheering on Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed gardening, having Bible studies on his computer, and hanging out with his loving caregiver, Paula Metz.
Those left to cherish his memory are his five sons: Robert Allen Morgan, Michael (Tabitha) Morgan, and Ronnie (Jenny) Morgan, all of Kistler, Chris (Paula Metz) Morgan at home, and James Robert Morgan of KY; four daughters, Cheryl (Timmy Hackney) Morgan of Stollings, Lillian Michelle (Harry) Hager of Lincoln Co., Lisa Dawn McCalister of McConnell, and Janet (Troy) Thomas of Danville; grandsons, Donald "DJ" Gordon Jr., Troy Thomas Jr., and John Henry Thomas; granddaughters, Nikki Morgan, Christy Dawn Adkins, Autumn Brooke Gibson, Summer Morgan, Elizabeth Kidd, Anna Metz, and "his special Hillbilly friend" April Yelton; great-grandchildren: Weston Adkins, Antonio Pence, Ayden Surber, Braylan Surber, Rowyn Stockdale, and Amil Nicole Kelly; one brother, Alfred (Patricia) Morgan of KY; and four sisters: Anna (Charles) Johnson of TN, Violet (Gary) Jarrell of Peytona, Mary Rose (Clyde) Craddock of Henlawson, and Debbie (Garnet) Marsh of Proctor Bottom; brother-in-law, Clarence Toler; sister-in-law, Joann Morgan; and a large host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
He will be carried to his final resting place by Derek Gibson, Shane Mangus, Steve Grimmett, Eddie Browning, Robert Morgan, and Ronnie Jarrell.
Honorary pall bearers will be his sons, Michael, Ronnie, and Chris Morgan.
