Howard Paul "Butch" Linville Of Mallory, WV Howard Paul "Butch" Linville, 70, of Mallory, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1942, at Amherstdale, the son of the late Casey George and Freda Lucille Moore Linville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Sue Linville and two brothers, James Alfred and Leon Linville. Butch was a 1961 graduate of Man High School and was a former employee for Pride, Logan County Board of Education, Diamond Shamrock Coal Co., and the Logan County Commission. He was always active in Tridelphia area sports, spending many hours coaching, umpiring, and refereeing. Butch had a tremendous love for baseball especially the Cincinnati Reds, softball, Hillbilly football, and WVU football. He was the former "voice of the Hillbillies" for 25 years. Butch spent many hours driving a passenger bus for survivors of the 1972 Buffalo Creek Disaster, up and down the roads of Buffalo Creek, which was his beloved home for many years. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and was well known and loved by many in this area. Those left to cherish his memory are three precious daughters, Leigh Ann (Jason Adkins) Hawkins of Whitman, Shannon (Patrick) Hensley of Braeholm, his baby girl, Kasey (Jon Hairston) Linville of Robinette; one sister, Pam Linville of Amherstdale; six precious grandchildren, Michael (Cindy Vance) White of Lake, Zachary Hill of Whitman, Noah Hawkins of Whitman, Jairadan Hairston of Robinette, Samantha and Sienna Mitchem of Braeholm; one great granddaughter, Dusty Leigh Ann Vance; his caregiver and special friend, Sonya Curry; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Man High School Little Theatre at Man with Rev. Jason Beaty officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the school. To honor Butch's wishes he will be cremated.
