Tex Fields
Of Accoville, WV
Tex Fields, 73, of Accoville, departed this life Friday, March 8, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness.
He was born February 10, 1940, at Marrowbone Creek, the son of the late Lewis and Mae Block Fields.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Fields and Frank Fields; and his granddaughter, Heather Leanne Fields.
Tex was a forest ranger who retired from the WV Division of Forestry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corp. An outdoorsman, Tex enjoyed hunting and collecting guns.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Martha Fields of Accoville; two sons, Lewis (Tabitha) Fields of Whitman and Adam Fields at home; one daughter, Cindy (Greg) Hatfield of South Point, OH; three brothers, Roy (Cheryl) Fields of Mallory, Tommy Fields, and Henry Fields; four sisters, Sara (Robert) Eubanks of GA, Beulah Porter of Griffithsville, Haley Fields of Mason Co., and Evelyn (Willard) Kelly of Cow Creek; three grandchildren, Michael Frankum, Jacob Evans, and Zachary Kirby, all of Whitman; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery on Saw Mill Road at Crawley Creek.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pall bearer will be Adam Fields.
