Obituary of Gertrude Walker Gunnells

Gertude Walker Gunnells Of Braeholm, WV Gertrude Walker Gunells, 92, of Braholm, departed this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan after a long illness. She was born January 11, 1921, at John's Creek, KY, a daughter of the late Odis and Janice Deskins Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis "Shorty" Gunnells; two sons, Foster Gunnells and Bill Gunnells; one daughter, Brenda Williams; one son-in-law, Charles Williams; four granddaughters, Tammy Frye, Mary Williams, Teresa Gunnells, and Tonya Gunnells; two step-brothers, James and Wilton Thompson; and a special friend, Harry Toler. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Larry (Gloria) Gunnells of Disputania, VA and Jeff (Brandi) Gunnells of Braeholm; one daughter, Linda (Curtis Pauley) Gunnells of Gilbert; her daughter-in-law, Hessie Gunnells of Chapmanville; one step-son, Okie (Geraldine) Gunnells of Hanover; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-granddaughter; and 4 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Trinity Nursing Home for taking such good care of our mother. At Gertrude's request there will be no services and her remains have been cremated.
