Margaret Adkins Of Amherstdale, WV Margaret Adkins, 88, of Amherstdale departed this life on February 15, 2013, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV, with her family by her side. She was born October 19, 1924, at Monclo in Logan County, the daughter of the late Millard and Matilda Sias Barr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Adkins; three brothers, Mason Barker, Ronald Barr, and Thurmond Barr, and one infant sister, Corinna. She assisted with Christmas plays, sang solo, and played guitar. Fond memories exist of her renditions of "O Holy Night" and "Ten Thousand Angels." She shared her love of music with her children and grandchildren who will carry on her legacy. Those left to cherish her memory are five children, Andrea Bennett of Charleston, Kenneth (Joetta) Adkins of Houston, TX, Gary (Julie) Adkins of Glasgow, KY, Carolyn Sue (Paul) Eckerle of Sarasota, FL, and Ron (Linda) Adkins of Frankfort, KY. Eight grandchildren, Mark (Robin) Adkins of NJ, Paula Eckerle, Sean (Ami) Eckerle, Josh (Cassie) Adkins and Patrick Adkins, all of KY, Bailey Bennett and Trey Bennett, both of Charleston, and Kalyn Adkins of TX; four great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Adkins, Alex Eckerle, Adrienne Adkins and coming soon Lilah Adkins; two sisters-in-law, Glenna Wiley of Kistler and Garnet Triplett of Kistler; a very special friend and caregiver, Lisa Blankenship, who Margaret loved dearly, and numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
