Helen Morgan
Of Man, WV
Helen Morgan, 82, of Man, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2013, after complications from surgery, with her loving family by her side.
She was born August 9, 1930, in Rawls, the oldest of 10 children, born to the late Troy and Carrie Bond Wolford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by baby daughters, Carol Sue Morgan and Sandra Faye Morgan; her brothers, Donald and James Wolford; her sisters, Betty Wolford and Mary Thompson; and her son-in-law, Jerry Plymale; along with several cherished nieces, nephews, and many other family members.
Helen was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Big Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the President of the Ladies Aid. A Christian for the last 43 years, she enjoyed and was dedicated to cooking on special occasions for her church family, seeing it as her service to the Lord. Up until November of this past year she enjoyed working as a cook at The Cliffside Restaurant, where she had many, many special friends and co-workers. Helen especially loved cooking for her family, where she showed how much she loved all of them in her own special way.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 65 years, Ulbert Morgan; her daughters, Brenda Kay Plymale of Landville and Lisa (Kenny) Sias of Midlothian, VA; her sons, Kenny (Marlene) Morgan of Man and Doug (Janet) Morgan of Lorado; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Bassham of Midlothian, VA, Becky (Kevin) Thompson of Greenville, MI, Shay (Misty) Morgan of Lorado, Brandi (Ney) Hidalgo of Fredericksburg, VA, and Kevin (Lizz) Sias of Powhatan, VA; her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Lacie Bassham, Katie Beth and Noah Thompson, Justin, Christian, and Max Morgan, Lucas, Myah, Morgan, and Jack Hidalgo, and Jay and Blu Sias; her brother, Scott (Claudette) Wolford of Gloucester, VA; her sisters, Lois Browning, Peggy (Tom) Coley, and Sally Fulton, all of Huntington, and Opal (Otis) Denning of Phoenix, AZ; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Big Spring Missionary Baptist Church at Mallory with Rev. John Cain and Rev. Robert Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
