Clyde "Pete" Gent
Of Kistler, WV
Clyde "Pete" Gent, 59, of Kistler, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, at his residence.
He was born October 23, 1953, at Man, a son of the late Clyde Parsons and Wrilda "Till" Nelson Ogle and her husband, John.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving step-father, John Ogle; one son, Benjamin John Gent; and his grandparents, John and Maggie Gent.
Pete served as a member of the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran. He then went on to work as a coal miner in the coal fields of West Virginia and finished his career as a car salesman. Pete enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchild. He also enjoyed ATV riding, Nascar, motorcycles and WWF.
Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Tilah (Tommy) Moore of Logan and Zackery Gent of Man; one granddaughter, Jessica Fleming of Logan; five brothers, Russell Toler of Man, Rev. Ollie (Denise) Parsons of Charleston, James Lawson (Teresa) Ogle of Chapmanville, Jeffery (Norma) Ogle of Gilbert, and Hugh Parsons; two sisters, Johnnie Melinda Parsons (William 'Buddy') Flippin of Morehead City, NC, Judith Ogle Mellinger of New Mexico; 10 nieces, four nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Kistler Free Will Baptist Church at Kistler, WV with the Rev. Jimmy Frazier officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
