Jacqueline R. Brown
Of Man, WV
Jacqueline R. Brown, 85, of Man, formerly of Mallory, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 28, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness.
She was born November 10, 1927, at Lorado, the daughter of the late Fred and Mercedes "Teed" Cook Lusk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Brown.
Jackie was a 1945 graduate of Man High School. She was a retired secretary who was formerly employed with Man Appalachian Regional Hospital, Princess Coal Company at Mallory, and Pittston Coal Company at Rich Creek. After her retirement, Jackie worked harder than ever as the treasurer of the Triadelphia Country Club for 30 years where she played golf five days a week when she was able. She was a member of the Old Man High Alumni Association where she served as the treasurer for 25 years. Jackie was a long time member of the Mallory Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dale A. (Beverly) Brown of Huntington and Danny Joe Brown of Grand Rapids, MI; three grandchildren, Wendy Maynard of Huntington, Michael Brown and Jonathan Brown, both of Grand Rapids, MI; two great-grandchildren, J.D. Berry and Jordan Maynard, both of Huntington; three sisters, Rosa (George) Cobb of Cyclone, Charlotte (Dal) Beatty of Orlando, FL, and Mavis Toler of Man with whom Jackie made her home; four brothers, Robert (Frankie) Lusk and Joe Lusk, both of County Line, Gene (Peggy) Lusk of Mount Clair, VA, and James Richard "Dickie" (Barbara) Lusk of Twin Falls; a special caregiver, Lisa Curry of Mallory; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Zane Gray officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Old Man High Alumni Association, 309 W. McDonald Ave., Man, WV 25635.
Honoring Jackie's request her remains have been cremated.
