Of Davin, WV
Bernice Neolan Wooten, 81, of Davin, departed this life to go to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at CAMC-General Division after a short illness.
She was born August 23, 1931, at Davy, WV, the daughter of the late Riley and Ava Babb Crum.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Wooten; one granddaughter, Crystal Dillon; three sisters, Dalphine Ripley, Dorothy Hager, and Guelda Gross; and four brothers, Perry Thomas Crum, Paul Crum, Leonard Crum, and Leslie Crum.
Bernice was a retired stock clerk formerly employed with Burgess and Lohn Supermarket at Man. She was a dedicated home maker and loving wife and mother. Bernice enjoyed reading, collecting dolls, decorating birthday cakes, and taking family pictures. She was a very talented seamstress and upholster.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Sandra Gail Browning of AL; five sons, Donald (Marilyn) Wooten of Sumter, SC, Billy (Lydia) Wooten, Roger (Vickie) Wooten, and Ronald Wooten, all of Davin, and Perry (Connie) Wooten of Stony Point, NC; two brothers, Gene Crum of IL and Norman Bethel (Sharon) Crum of TN; twelve grandchildren, Donald "Little Buddy" Wooten of TX, Michelle (Larry) Howell of TX, Anthony Wooten of Davin, Katherine "Kathy" (Jake) Stanley of Bruno, Angela (Roberto) Mendives of Dayton, OH, Roger "Lee" (Erica) Wooten of Ghent, Audrey Rose (Corey) Harbert of San Antonio, TX, and Fredrick "Rick" Wooten of Davin, Ronald Wooten and Robert (Olidia) Wooten, both of TX, Andrea (Twan) Nguyen and Lindsey (Clay) Swint, both of AL; 20 great-grandchildren, Trey, Corey Stanley, Taylor Stanley, Amanda Howell, Casandra, Roberto "Robe" Mendives, Markus Mendives, Gabriel Mendives, Ezequal Mendives, Roger Lee Wooten III, Eric Michael Wooten, and Nathaniel Wooten, Robert Jr., Erica, and Helica Wooten, Andy, Allison, Elisabeth, and Leah Swint, and Evelyn "Evie" Nguyen; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Mallory Church of God at Mallory with Rev. Shaun Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
