Donna Blankenship Rogers
Of Christian, WV
Donna Blankenship Rogers, 59, of Christian, went to her heavenly home Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born January 22, 1953, at Man, the daughter of the late Mason and Dorothy Bartram Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rogers; two grandchildren, Walden and Raymond Browning; five sisters, Gustavia and Rebecca Blankenship, Emmalene Rose, Ima Jean Templeman, and Tammy Maynard; and one brother Norville Blankenship.
She was a home maker and a sales clerk formerly employed at Murphy Mart at Rita. Donna was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed traveling, talking on the phone, and being with her grandbabies.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Charlie (Alice) Rogers of KY, Maggie (Randy) Evans of Christian, and Shelby (James) Hill of Elk Creek; two friends who Donna considered her own children, Sheryl Rogers of Elk Creek and Randy Bobbitt of Christian; four grandchildren, Lilly Rogers of Elk Creek, DJ Browning of Christian, and James "Bubby" Hill and Garrett Hill, both of Elk Creek; two sisters, Darlene Lux of Shelby, OH and Vickie (Ed) Challey of KY; four brothers, Luther (Pearl) Blankenship of Richie County, Mason (Nadine) Blankenship of Greenville, Arlen (Gail) Blankenship of Shiloh, OH, and Ranny (Susie) Blankenship of Stowe; three special nieces, Jennifer Blevins, Sherry Parsons, and Connie Jude; one special nephew, Ralph Workman; and one special brother-in-law, Pribble Rose of Bruno; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno with Rev. Donald Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in Browning-Grimmett Cemetery at Sandlick.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
