Danny Keith Booth, 61, of Sanford, NC, departed this life Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 2, 1951, at Yolyn, WV, the son of the late Charles Leslie and Georgia Adkins Booth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Ann Booth, Virginia Lou Adkins, and Wilma Jean Howard; two brothers, Donald and Johnny Booth; and his daughter, Rebecca Bassham.
Danny was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country honorably from 1970-1971. He was a carpenter who retired after 30 plus years. Danny was of the Baptist faith. He loved Nascar racing, working on automobiles, playing with his grandchildren, and visiting with his many close and loyal friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Judith Atkins Booth; two sons, Michael Bassham and his wife, Jennifer (Plymale), of Midlothian, VA and Danny Booth Jr. of Shady Springs, WV; two daughters, Brianna Booth of Sanford, NC and Cindy Booth Patton and her husband, Billy, of Daniels, WV; two sisters, Frances Tabor and her husband, Hollis, of Brunswick, OH and Teresa Henri and her husband, Michael, of Ashland, WI; two brothers, Norman Booth and his wife, Juanita, of Crown, WV and Ronald "Buzz" Booth of Cleveland, OH; one sister-in-law, Julia Manns Booth of Mallory, WV; six grandchildren, Brandon and Lacie "Ya Bug" Bassham, Tyler Morgan, Gavin Patton, Daniel Booth, and Andrew Booth; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. John Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville, and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be Michael and Brandon Bassham, Tyler Morgan, and Jamie, Terry, and Charles "Charlie" Booth.
