Alma Mitchell
Of Logan, WV
Alma Mitchell, 94, of Mitchell Heights, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 14, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 28, 1918 at Wilsondale, a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Elizabeth Williamson Endicott.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emrick "Big Mitch" Mitchell; three sisters, Mary Blanche Walls, Rebecca Browning, and Flora Maynard; and two brothers Mose Endicott and Leonard Perry.
Alma was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God. She loved tending her flowers, caring for animals, especially her cat, Lil Brandy, and decorating her home in the hills that she loved. Alma was a very generous person and very loving to her family and friends.
Survivors include her one son, Larry (Norma) Mitchell of Fort Myers, FL; one daughter Lois (Kenneth) McCoy of Man; one sister, Adeline Tutor of Wiley Ford; one sister-in-law, Doris Endicott of Mitchell Heights; five grandchildren, Lea (Todd) Wright of Lakeville, MN, Rhonda (Terry) Dillinger of Roseville, OH, Susan (Reagan) Lynch of Pendleton, KY, Kenneth (Barbara) McCoy of Cobb, and Kevin McCoy of Fairmont; four great-grand children; four great-great-grand children; along with a host of loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Kathy Harvey and the critical care unit at Logan Regional for their loving care of Alma and her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Mallory Church of God at Mallory with Rev. Shaun Walker and Rev. Wesley Browning. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
