Betty Lura "Lou" Brumfield
Of Bruno, WV
Betty Lura "Lou" Goodman-Brumfield, 87, of Bruno, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 6, 2012, after a long illness.
She was born August 5, 1925 at Christian, a daughter of the late James Edward and Lottie Toler Goodman.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton "Zeke" Brumfield; two sons, Howard Lee Brumfield and Joe Randolph Brumfield; four grandsons, Scotty Spears, Calvin Stewart Spears, Johnathan Dene Miller, and Joe Brumfield; five brothers, Harry Goodman, Robert Bud Goodman, Eugene Goodman, Elmer Goodman, and Bill Goodman –McQuithy; six sisters, Nina Grimmett, Nellie Likens, Sybil Plymale, Alberta Combs, Mabel Goodman, and Tressie Goodman.
Betty was of the Pentecostal Faith and an avid member of the working community with various job titles. Her performances were at Nuttin Fancy Restaurant, Colonial Room Restaurant, Browning Dust, and Arlie's. Her favorite trade was child care. She touched many young lives by teaching them to love, forgive, and cherish family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, William R. (Geri) Brumfield of Sterling Heights, MI, Lila Brumfield of Oceana, Tishie Ann (Larry Dene) Brumfield-Miller of Oceana, Clayton E. (Belinda) Brumfield, Jr. of Christian, and Craig (Gail) Brumfield of Bruno; one brother, Bob Goodman of Newark, OH; one sister, Lola Goodman of Christian; two daughters-in-law, Anna Brumfield of Howell, MI and Dorothy Brumfield of Logan; 27 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren all of whom were cherished and close to her heart; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Pastor Rick Proffitt officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services also.
Paul Bearers will be, Clayton Brumfield, Jr., Hunk Goodman, Chris Stone, Chantz Trent, Clay Brumfield, Thurman Goodman, Jr., and Troy Goodman.
Betty's family wishes to extend a special thank you to her granddaughters that took special care of her, Tishie Michell Brumfield-Stone and April Brumfield-Browning. The family would also like to thank, Dignity Hospice, ARH Home Health, Dr. Michael Muscari, and Jennifer Stewart, PA of Family Healthcare Associates, and to everyone that has supported and prayed during this critical time.
