Obituary of Joe H. Griffith

Joe H. Griffith Of Newark, Ohio Joe H. Griffith, 79, of Newark, Ohio, formerly of Elk Creek, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital at Newark. He was born July 19, 1933, at Elk Creek, WV, the son of the late Arlie Griffith and Carrie Kennedy Griffith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Griffith. Mr. Griffith was employed in construction and had worked on Newark City Hall, Licking Memorial Hospital, and the City Service Building. He loved to hunt and fish. Those left to cherish his memory are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Carrie Carter; grandchildren, Dennis and Dylan Carter; brothers, Wonnie Griffith, Wayman Griffith, Bobby Griffith, and Herman Griffith; sisters, Floramae Scott, Christine Trent, Ernistine Cline, and Dottie Browning; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Newark Chapel at Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Walter Grimmett officiating.
