Garnet Lee Riley
Of Crites, WV
Garnet Lee Farley Riley, 59, of Crites, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 7, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan from complications of cancer treatment.
She was born January 22, 1953, at Kistler, the daughter of the late Ira Jack and Gladys Canterbury Farley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Leona Farley Blair; and three brothers, Joe Farley, J.D. Farley, and Johnny Farley.
Garnet was the stock manager at the Ames at Rita Mall for 19 years. She gave her life to the Lord several months ago and was of the Baptist faith. An outdoors person, Garnet enjoyed raising flowers, helping her husband with yard work, sitting on the porch watching the humming birds, and going 4-wheeling. Devoted to her family, she loved to cook, research family genealogy, and spend time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Ira "R.J." Riley of Crites; two sons, Mark Riley of Chapmanville and Ryan Riley of Crites; a very special granddaughter, Haven "heyhey" Riley of Crites; one sister, Linda "Wess" Messer of Accoville; four brothers, Bill "Peggy" Farley and Jody "Elvira" Farley, both of Montpelier, OH, Joby "Kathy" Farley of Oceana, and Matt Farley of Kistler; her mother-in-law, Glenna Riley of Orlando, FL; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Riley (Sherman) Johns of Orlando, FL, Norma Riley Weetman of Lanham, MD, and Linda Riley of Annapolis, MD; one brother-in-law, David (Lillian) Riley of Lundale; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Stephanie Blankenship, Kathy Hunt, and the rest of the Ames family; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the Kistler Free Will Baptist Church at Kistler with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
