Please share a memory of Hubert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hubert Lee Cresong Of Robinette, WV Hubert Lee Cresong, 80, of Robinette, formerly of Man, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 27, 2012, from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston, after a short illness. He was born July 12, 1932, at Yolyn, the son of Houston Lee and Pearl Roy Cresong. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Ball; one brother, Willard Cresong; and two half-brothers, Haskell Moore and Hershel Cresong. Cresong was a disabled coal miner who worked underground for 33 years. He was in the U.S. Army for 6 ½ years, where he served in the Korean Conflict and was wounded twice in action. Cresong was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of VFW Post 8412. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, or just sitting on the porch or park bench talking to friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. Cresong never met a stranger and enjoyed laughing and talking to all who crossed his path. Possessing a great memory, he was able to recall the family history of those around him, historical facts, and biblical scripture. An avid coon hunter, Cresong loved his coon dogs, caring for them daily and bathing them weekly. Large Sunday dinners shared with family and friends were a Cresong family tradition where no excuses for being absent were accepted. He along with his wife, Victoria, loved being around children especially their grandchildren who loved him dearly. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 24 years, Victoria Carter Cresong of Robinette; his children, Linda Cresong (Terry) Caserta of Crown, Marlene (James) Evans of Mallory, Charlene (Jimmy Dale) Brumfield and Diana (Leo) Miller, both of Lorado, Mike Cresong and Steven Cresong, both of Man, and youngest daughter, Jessica (Keith) Collins of Bruno; three step-children whom he considered his own and who loved him, Michelle (Joe) Altizer and Melony Osborne, both of Bruno, and Chuck (Sam) Osborne of Curtis; one sister, Maxine Corns of Conchonhawkins, PA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. At his request, the remains have been cremated and there will be no memorial service. It was his wish that he be remembered as he was. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you share a smile, lend a helping hand, make someone laugh, or include someone in your prayers as he did. Online condolences may be sent to www.krantzmcneelyfuneralhome.com Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
