Obituary of Mildred Marie Buchanan Smith

Mildred Marie Buchanan Smith Of Lundale, WV Mildred Marie Buchanan Smith, 86, of Lundale, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 30, 2012, from Bristol, TN, after a short illness. She was born February 10, 1926, in McDowell County, the daughter of the late Roy and Barbara Powers Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smith, Sr.; and one sister, Helen Buchanan Owens. Mildred was a home maker. She was a member of Man Church of God where she served as the church clerk for many years. Devoted to her family, Mildred was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Eugene (Ruby) Smith, Jr. of Flintville, TN, Henry Lee Smith of Lundale, and Jerry (Taew) Smith of Lorado; a special friend who was like a son, Andy Jack (Jackie) Lawrence of Smithfield, NC; one sister, Delores (Roy) Hoosier of Cresaptown, MD; one brother, Roy Lee Buchanan of Newport, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Bernard Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Sparks Cemetery at Bradshaw Mountain. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and also one hour prior services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Man Church of God, 639 Main Street, Man, WV 25635. Pall bearers will be family and friends.
