Cecil Earl Wintz, Jr.
Of Amherstdale, WV
Cecil Earl Wintz, Jr., 70, of Amherstdale, departed this life on Monday, September 1, 2014, from his home, after an extended illness.
He was born on June 28, 1944, at Lorado, the son of the late Cecil Earl, Sr. and Georgia McClellan Wintz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Alvin Vance; brothers-in-law, Bobby Linville, Bill Cook, and Jerry Spicer; and a special friend who he thought of as a daughter, Sandra Bledsoe Montgomery.
Cecil was a 1963 graduate of Man High School. He was a heavy equipment mechanic formerly employed with Hobet Mining. Cecil was the former owner and operator of Wintz's Service Center at Amherstdale. After his retirement, he provided special services for the community children by fixing their cars, 4-wheelers, and bikes. An avid outdoorsman, Cecil loved to hunt, fish, and ride his 4-wheeler. He enjoyed watching sports on television, walking, and especially loved spending time with his grandson, Jamie who he called "little man".
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 26 years, Judy Vance Wintz; two daughters, Lisa Riley (Glendale) Belcher of Davin and Christine Wintz of Steelton, PA; one son, Christopher (Kim) Wintz of Middletown, PA; six grandchildren, Jamie Riley, Matt Belcher, Zach, Ali, and Hayden Wintz, and Matthew Wintz; two great-granddaughters, Gracie and Mattie Belcher; two sisters, Doris Cook of Carlsbad, NM and Margaret Spicer of Lexington, KY; a special cousin, Johnny (Linda) Rush of GA; his mother-in-law who he loved like a mother, Shirley Vance; three special sisters-in-law, Mila, Debbie, and Sissy; brother-in-law, Marty; very special nieces and nephews, Maria, Mandi, Ryan (Danielle), Morgan (Andrea), Dustin, Zane, and Seth; great-nephews, Gabe and Bo; and his grand-dog, Snoopy; and very special neighbors, Garnet and Debbie Marsh and Chad and Brittany Newsome; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
In honor of Cecil's wishes his remains have been cremated and there will be no services.
