Charles Melvin Reed Of Greenville, WV Charles Melvin Reed, 87, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at his home, after an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1927, at Paintsville, KY, the son of the late Chalmer "Charles" and Della Mae Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Ferguson Reed. He was the retired owner and operator of Reed and Son Contractors. Charles was a member of the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Charles P. Reed of Cincinnati, OH; four grand-daughters, Leslie (Doug) Turner, Elizabeth Vaughn, Hannah Vaughn, and Eryka Vaughn, all of Cincinnati; and four great-grandchildren, Owen, Jayme, Robert, and Camron. A going home service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church at Greenville with Rev. Baxter Toler officiating. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the church also.
