Of Taplin, WV
Sandra Carol Nelson, 60, of Taplin, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 4, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after an extended illness.
She was born February 3, 1952, at Charleston, the daughter of the late Charles Taylor and Ruby Johnson Angel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Trudy Saunders; and one brother, Mark Taylor.
She was a home maker. When she was able, Sandra enjoyed making crafts. A kind and loving woman, she was good to everyone she met.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, Billy Nelson; two daughters, Helen Saunders of Taplin and Teresa Saunders of Florida; one son, Edward (Elizabeth) Saunders of New York; three sisters, Opal of KS, Verna of Kansas City, KS and Peggy of SC; one brother, Bubby Taylor of Richmond, OH; nine grandchildren, Shawn Saunders, Kenneth Ray Farley Jr., William Frank Saunders, and Alex Chippent, all of Taplin, Ashley Williams of Fort Bragg, NC, Bill Farley and Brandon Farley, both of Pierpont, OH, and Anya Murphy and Kelly Saunders, both of New York; two great-grandchildren, Amani Williams and Starr Keck; a special aunt, Jenny Holstein of Alum Creek; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Shaun Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Fox Hill Cemetery at South Charleston.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be Joe Chapman, Brandon Carter, Denny Gibson, and Bill Owens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home to help with Sandra's funeral expenses.
