Obituary of Carol Spaulding Perry

Carol Ann Spaulding Perry Of Madison Creek, WV Carol Ann Spaulding Perry, 50, of Madison Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2014, leaving from her home, after a long illness. She was born on January 26, 1964, at Logan, the daughter of Loudima Maynard Spaulding of Madison Creek and the late Otis Prentiss Spaulding. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Wade Spaulding; her maternal grandparents, Russell and Lena Daniels Maynard and their children, Gladys and Elzie Harless, Bernard and Maggie Maynard, Bill Maynard, Clarence Maynard, John Russell "Junior" Maynard, Charlie Maynard, Berthel and Flora Mae Maynard; Cletis and Patty Maynard, and Edith Maynard; and her paternal grandparents, Harrison and Vada Webb Spaulding and their children, Floretta Spaulding and Mose and Betty Wright. Carol was a home maker and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith and before her illness attended Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church. Being home bound, Carol strengthened her faith by listening to Christian programs on radio and watching the gospel stations on television. A wonderful mother, Carol loved her children, grandchildren and family dearly. She was especially close to her youngest granddaughter, Maddie who kept her busy and created a lot of joy in her life. Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are her children, Roger "George" Spaulding of Madison Creek and Carolyn Spaulding of Handley; four sisters, Kathy (David) Stapleton of Amherstdale, Beatrice Spaulding, Barbara (Roger, Jr.) Caldwell, and Julie (Tony) Stephens, all of Madison Creek; two brothers, Glenn (Liz Mosley) Spaulding and Otis Prentiss (Raylene) Spaulding, Jr., both of Madison Creek; her grandchildren, Karen Baldwin, Brody Baldwin, and Madyson Baldwin; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Spaulding, David Stapleton II, Melissa (Lucas) Corns, Robert Caldwell, Jules Burgess, Michael Spaulding, Christina Frye, Otis Prentiss "Opie" (Alicia) Spaulding III, Staci Spaulding, Colton Gibson, Michael Bailey, and Katie (Jacob) Evans; great-nieces and great-nephews, Easton, Skylar, Jeremy, Zach, Cody, Kayla, Kylie, Karlie, and Alexis; two uncles, Harrison (Charlene) Spaulding of Madison Creek and Lester Maynard of Rita; and several cousins along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Loudima and Prentiss Spaulding Cemetery at Madison Creek. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services at the funeral home also. Pall bearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St., Man, WV 25635 to help with funeral expenses.
