Eloise Virginia Merritt
Of Fayetteville, WV
Eloise Virginia Merritt, 85, of Fayetteville, formerly of Lorado, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from her home, after a short illness.
She was born December 1, 1926, at Lorado, a daughter of the late William Paul and Alice M. Ramsey Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Marshall and Jack Marshall; one sister-in-law, Pauline Gannon Marshall; and one daughter-in-law, Tina Merritt.
She was a home maker and retired employee of Amherst Coal Company and Diamond Shamrock Coal Division. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Edward "Boots" Merritt Sr. with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage on December 31, 2011; five children, Eddie Merritt of Hico, David (Cheryl) Merritt and Billy (Karen) Merritt, both of Man, Lillian (Cecil Riner) Atkinson of Fayetteville, and Robert (Kathy) Merritt of Accoville; one sister, Lillian Mayhew of Van Nuys, California; a special sister-in-law, Rosalie Marshall of Fayetteville; eleven grandchildren, Marshall (Cara) Merritt of Barboursville, Nick Johnston II of Fayetteville, Eric (Valerie) Merritt of Helena, Montana, Brad (Sarah) Merritt of Hico, Lauren (Gary) Thacker of Winfield, Sara (Brandon) Smith of Hico, Justin Merritt, Andrew Merritt, and Tiara (Aaron) Glandon, all of Man, and R.J. Merritt and Jacob Merritt, both of Accoville; and one great-grandson, Caleb Merritt of Barboursville; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pall bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandson who will provide a circle of love for their grandmother to her final resting place.
Honorary pall bearers will be Leonard "Buddy" Ellis, Cecil Riner, Melvin Smith, Willie Gambill, Leroy Terry, and Oaky Skidmore.
