Of Davin, WV
Maxine Sue Eads Vance, 70, of Davin, departed this life on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at St. Francis' Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, after an extended illness.
She was born on November 28, 1941, at Acme, a daughter of the late Lawrence Clayton "Hoppy" and Alma Opal Vance Eads.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Ed Vance; one son, Kevin James Vance; and two brothers, Darrell Eads and Jack Eads.
Maxine was a dedicated home maker, who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her home. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Brooke, Hunter, and Cameron. Maxine also enjoyed raising plants, especially roses, caring for her family, keeping in touch with out of town family and friends through facebook, and playing spider solitare.
Those left to miss her are her three children, David (Jennifer) Vance of Winfield, Debra (Kevin) Mathis, and Brian (Stephanie Blankenship) Vance, both of Davin; one brother, Harry (Marnell) Eads of Stratford, CT; five sisters, Ruth (Ralph) Mezzoni of Mt. Sidney, VA, Barbara (Robert) Petry of Cabin Creek, Sandra Howsare of Handley, Janet (Tom) Zerbe of Dunbar, and Corrine (David) Scott of Poca; two sisters-in-law, Carol Eads of Poca and Sue Eads of Milford, CT; three grandchildren, Brooke Mathis of Davin, Hunter Vance and Cameron Stoops, both of Winfield; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Brian C. Baker officiating.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
At Maxine's request, her remains have been cremated.
