Obituary of Anna Gay Koutsunis

Anna Gay Koutsunis Of Robinette, WV Anna Gay Koutsunis, 81, of Robinette, joined her loving husband in their heavenly home Friday, February 24, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness. She was born November 25, 1930, at Robinette, the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Ferrell White and her step-mother, Geneva Parsons White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Koutsunis; two sisters, Delores (Harry) Scott and Lula (Jimmy) Kouns; and her brother, Ernie White. Anna was a member of The Becco United Baptist Church for 53 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Anna was a person who loved being surrounded by her family, friends, and church members. Those left to cherish her memory include four children: two daughters, Phyllis and her very special son-in-law, James, of Robinette and Sandy (Randy McDowell) Koutsunis of Ashland, KY and two sons, George (Sheila) Koutsunis, Jr. of Ridgeway, SC and Bill (Angie) Koutsunis of Ashland, KY; two brothers, Charles Ray (Bobbie) White and Russell (Glenna) White, both of Ashland, KY; two sisters, Joyce Ball of Ashland, KY and Judy (Don) Thorne of Dayton, OH; 15 grandchildren, Jeanna (Johnny) Cherry, Kevin (Emily) Koutsunis, Pamela (Weston) Harvey, Jami (Ed) Charles, Kelli (Scott) McKinney, Jason (Amy) Koutsunis, Rebecca (James Moore) Koutsunis, Jordan Craig, Briahr Koutsunis, Jessica Christy, Jimmy Paynter, Lisa (Brian) Beaty, Joe Hicks, Michael Hicks, and Phillip Rowe; 16 great-grandchildren, Sarah Cherry, Joci Stevenson, Hannah Harvey, John Cherry, Kassie Koutsunis, Christopher Beaty, Antwon Moore, Grace Koutsunis, Deonttae Moore, Summer McKinney, Jocelyn Beaty, Tyler McKinney, James Charles, Kolter Christy, Gunner Christy, and DaeQuionte' Moore; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family extends a very special thank you to her caregivers, Betty Cook, Pamela Harvey, Jami Charles, and her loving daughter, Phyllis McCoy. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Becco United Baptist Church at Becco with Rev. Denver McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be her grandsons. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
