Obituary of Mae Jeanette Vance

Mae Jeanette Vance Of Davin, WV Mae Jeanette Vance, 77, of Davin, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, February 13, 2012, from CAMC-General Division at Charleston, after a short illness. She was born September 4, 1934, at Harold, KY, the daughter of the late Charlie and Mae McKinney Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Keathley; and five brothers, Aster, Charlie, Earl, Jack, and Jimmy Salisbury. Mae Jeanette was a retired cook formerly employed with the Logan County Board of Education for 27 years. She was a member of the Gilman Bottom Community Tabernacle for 10 years, the Davin Baptist Church for 17 years, and the Man Revival Center for 5 years. Currently she was active in the Man Church of the Nazarene Ladies Aide where she led devotions when she was able. Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook for her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Rev. Ronald "Nig" Vance; three sons, Robert "Bobby" (LaDonna) Bryant of Taplin, and John (Kim) Vance and Tommy (Cynthia) Vance, both of Davin; one daughter, Jacqulyn "Jackie" Hall of Davin; three sisters, Atchie Salisbury of Wyandotte, MI who was her best friend, Betty (Harold) Summers of Man, and Dolly Farnell of TN; 12 grandchildren, Kim (Todd) Keffer of Man, Craig (Shanna) Bryant of Catawba, NC, Katie Bryant of Taplin, Danielle Vance, Bobby Hall, Jamie Hall, DeLynn (Kevin) Endicott, Blaine Vance, Rebekah Vance, Zachary Vance, Mallorie Vance, and Nicholas Vance, all of Davin; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Sydney Keffer, both of Man, Payton and Camryn Bryant of Catawba, NC, and Jake and Chase Endicott, both of Davin; a special niece, Lou Emma Wilson of Lexington, KY; a very special friend of the Vance family, Rev. Brian Pope of Man; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Rev. David Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Davin Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also. Pall bearers will be grandsons. Honorary pall bearers will be Gary Ellis, Dennis Bryant, Eddie Adkins, Brian Stafford, Jeff Pritchard, Tommy Salisbury, Roy Salisbury, Tracy Salisbury, and Mike Robinson.
