Virginia Combs Finley
Of Man, WV
Virginia "Jenny" Combs Finley, 94, of Man, joined her family in her Heavenly home on Friday, August 22, 2014, leaving from the Hospice House of Huntington at 10:43 a.m.
She was born August 17, 1920, at Man, the daughter of the late Grover and Wavie Chafin Combs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Ken Finley; one daughter, Ginger Lee Combs; three sisters, Essie Robinson, Esta Butcher, and Myrtle Manko; one brother, Denver Combs, and one niece Judith (George) Hatfield.
Jenny was a graduate of Man High School and was a beautician in Man for many years until she left to pursue her talent in music. After graduating from the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH, she pursued her passion by teaching music and piano and playing for the Lord. Her love of music left its mark on many students and anyone who ever heard her play. No matter what life threw her way, Jenny's love of life and her humor was an inspiration to everyone.
Those left to cherish her memory are three grandchildren, David R. McMahon, Jr. of Gallipolis, OH, Shane K. (Deleda) McMahon of Washington Courthouse, OH, and Paige (George) Walters of Grayson, KY; six great-grandchildren, Andy (Sarah) McMahon, Katie McMahon, Kristen (Nick) Blake, Jenna Walters, Abigail Walters, and Zachary Walters; four great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Gavin McMahon and Cole and Sydney Blake; and her extended family, Georgianna Hurley, Jacinda (Chris) Adkins, Joseph Hurley, Jesalyn (Rick) Ross, Gerald Robinson, Larry Robinson, and Margaret Sue Keenan; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Rev. Clyde Robertson officiating.
